Asianet indeed has a huge influence on kerala's tv-going public. which is really huge. In the intial years Asianet was not the firebrand that you see today. But of late Asianet is going into the 'evil inside' philosophy. They bring up controversial stories - keep it up on prime time - likw nothing else in the world matters - and then poof - the next controversy is up. Forget the old one. Who cares what really happens to the people involved .. or the victims invloved ... obviously Asianet doesnt give a damn .. they are just interested in it as long as it sells. The moment it goes off the selling point - they drop the story. If they dont get any controversies they try to create some by fuelling the politicians against each other on live conference calls.

Its been less than a week and Asianet has forgotten about the Swami fiasco. And other channels have followed suite. Wonder what made them do that now. Probably MP got invlolved when religious toes were twiddled. Well I never realised that the chariman of Asianet was a politician. Thats Rajeev Chandrashekhar, a Janata Dal(Secular) MP & FICCI president + ex-CEO BPL Mobile + now Chairman of Asianet

Going a bit back hes the intel pentium dude who set up BPL Mobile with apparent financing (dowry?) by his father-in-law TPG Nambiar. Well daddy-in-law took him to court for apparently cheating him out of BPL Mobile. Dunno what made daddy-o to pull out of the filing. Earlier daddy-in law & son-in-law had couple of sebi filings against them for insider trading with BPL. Lucky for him none came to light. Make no doubt that hes smart - infact hes certified IIT smart no doubt about it. Thats techie to enterprenuer to politician. Now thats called growth.

He's the man who battled for cricketer Dravid when he was to be axed. 'how nice of him'. As for his only concern last year as an MP from Karnataka was - believe it or not - only about the Gold Deposits in Orissa. (truth said I dint know much abt Orissa's gold deposits). Mebe he wants to setup AsiaOrissaNet in the gold mine. This year he asked for the Henderson Report (ol 1962 india china war stories). Looks like hes improving with the relate people skills - I'm an Indian.

For such a smart dude, his ex-bpl-employees described him as “impulsive, and irritable”, with weak people-management skills".Part of this should be true considering the way he reacted when Sunil Mittal called him a quitter.For such a big-shot he could'nt take a little dissing. Not sure how he felt Mallika Sarabhai said on his face to throw " ... 80% of those in Parliament into the sea". Guess he was in that 80%.

Pretty sure he was laughin his ass off at the employee when he sold his majority stake in BPL Mobile to Essar Group and pocketed 1600 crores. Thats when the flamboyant(what else can i call the man who has coupla beamer's, ferraris, jets .. lol .. much to the chagrin of his daddy-in-law; he gifted himself a lamborghini after the bpl mob sell-off... thats ... waaaaah ... boo-hoo how come i cant gift a lamborghini to myself... ahem) Chandrashekhar bought Asianet (51% stake) & he was also investing into Vizhinjam Port project,Kingfisher, Air India or Indian MRO facilities. Apparently it was about this time that he got the backing of all parties in Karnataka though he has never been in the public eye(some of the karnataka political opposers consider him as an outsider as the excuse for being against him - strangely no-one bothered abt how he became a politician overnight). Havta say that was a lil suspiscious. Proof that money can get you anything.


Now with a politician heading the largest Media & News Conglomerate in Kerala - how long will it take for Asianet to turn to pure evil.

Mostly i have a positive outlook towards news channels - they were making an attempt to bring out the truth. The past few days i could see news channels on overdrive to cover the Amrita Chaitanya aka Santosh Madhavan Swami happenings. Corny titles on flash alerts were doing the rounds. 'Kalla Swami', 'Aasami' being the few samples. lol i was laughing out. The swamy season had begun

But, starting yesterday I could see a change in the outlook towards the whole news media's freedom. Starting yesterday the unknown Swami Bhadrananda came to spotlight. One look and you can see hes a retard & minor drug addict or mentally ill with a wannabe feel for doing good. All he had was a silly looking Maruti 800 like car with a pilot light, oxygen cylinder & first aid box. And yea he would have seen some ministers while on some inaugration by climbing the nearest electric post or tree. The media couldnt digest this - they had to go hyperactive on this one. Starting with Mangalam who made him look like some sort of murderer the provocation started. I can understand the standards of mangalam - but Asianet News channel going to such levels. That was rather cheap. Even today when the silly swami who loved screen time tried to commit suicide some of the ridiculous mangalam & asianet so called professional journalists had to go haywire. All this claiming the police was being partial & exclusive to the Manorama journalist who did not even have a cam or voice recorder with her. She was simply trying to calm down the swami & get the gun away. No the typical mallu jealousy had to creep in. Idiotic newscrews forcing themselves into the police station where a man who's threatening to commit suicide is placed. And look what happened - he gets agitated & fires two shots - luckily no one got injured.

Seriously is this called media freedom? Shame on you Asianet & Mangalam - trying to justify your news hungry nature & your stupid journalists who tried to force their way into a room where a man sits threatening to commit to suicide with a loaded gun. Cant you just wait and look at real facts before jumping the gun.(Swami Himachal Pradesh could be another crook for all we know - but till we know how can u assasinate him such a way). Look at manorama and learn to let go.

Overall it looks like the whole media is trying to divert attention from the Santosh Madhava aka 'Kalla Swami'. Makes me wonder who really controls the media? reminds me of one of the charecters from the movie By the People in which the main almighty villain controls all the media and politics. We'll need a suresh gopi to do the rounds here.

As a native of Gods Own Country aka Kerala, I thought all along - with drastic cultural changes there'd be a society which would be able to express its freedom and strength without the fear of political repercussions. Hah, wishful thinking. Looking at kerala today I pity the situation all the unscrupolous politicians be it Congress, CPM or BJP has created. Congress being the useless smily faced and lazy followers with enough greed to keep it going. BJP\RSS - a bunch of ridiculous racist freaks who know only to capitalize on communal riots and bring about a thousand allegations on live tv with no balls to show up with evidence. Im not sure about the muslim parties doings - not sure what they are upto - are they into jihad or are they into marxism. Come Marxist - the uber examples of greed, tyranny & senseless idiots. They have ministers ranging from retarded & cultureless (eg:G. Sudhakaran the dude whos said live tv that fraud swamis should have a shoolam(arrow) shoved up their aasanam(arse)) to the ones with criminal\street thug history & well connected mafia dons (eg: Kodiyeri Balakrishanan)

As an expatriate I only come across info from media & its a quite handful. I dint realise the perks of being a marxist ministers son includes the following

• party happily with cool mafia thugs, grab ass of respected social ladies & get away with it
• impregnate minor girls
• happily make pornos for personal pleasure (with swamis help)
• arrange real estate deals in millions
• attack peaceful religius worshippers & deny it like nothing
• instigate political group fights involving students
• have the blessings of local goondas, uber mafia dons & other leftist criminals for his marriage
• act in hindi & malayalam movies even though u have no talent (is it really him??)

Given all the above charisma what'll I do next - upgrade & move to dubai to channels 'ol daddy's treasury pipelines across. Oh boy - 'what an Idea'.

Other marriage rumours included - that the girl whom the ministerial son married, tried to commit suicide when she heard of the marriage arrangement. Frankly speaking any sane girl would freak out when shes faced with such a situation - unless shes of the power hungry under any circumstances variety. Well I cant find any web-reps so mite as well go with the official story(the girls mother is a long lost friend of the heroes mother). In that case the girls mother should be deaf & dumb or the daughter was the cash cow.

The one thing I cannot understand - are there enough stupid people in kerala to vote up and make these freaks of nature installed as ministers? Even if you pay each of the voters individually how many votes can you gather? Being not much of a speaker I do not understand the power of junkyard political speeches & its effects on the common man. Probably that should be the main reason.

(personally i'm at a loss to say whatif i had been the offspring of a goonda home minister .. lol)
